The Royal Academy was founded in 1786 by Sir Joshua Reynolds. The RA has a long standing tradition of putting on ground breaking, best-selling art exhibitions. As a leader in art education it houses a prestigious art school with a global reputation; and as both a home and voice for artists it is led by a group of the country’s most eminent artists and architects -known as Royal Academicians. BrandVoice worked with the commercial team at the RA on their first ever brand licensing project to launch a range of interior paints. As the starting point of the paint brand creation it seemed like a natural development to ask a number of Academicians and the Galleries team to select a palette of interior paints using colours that hold special meaning for them and relate to their own art work. In this way the art lover can take home a little bit of art and inspiration for their own home. The project is therefore a direct extension of Sir Joshua Reynolds’ original aim to present a broad range of visual arts to the widest possible audience.
